HackerRank
Overview
HackerRank is a widely used developer skills assessment platform covering coding challenges, project-based tests, and technical interviews. Connected to Ashby, recruiters can add HackerRank assessments as activities in an interview plan and send them directly to candidates from the candidate profile. As candidates complete tests, scores and status updates sync back to Ashby automatically, including pass/fail thresholds.
How to use
In Ashby, go to Admin > Integrations > HackerRank, click "Enable HackerRank," and create or select an Ashby API key (must have write access to candidates endpoints).
In HackerRank, go to Settings > Integrations, click Configure on the Ashby tile, click "Generate API Token," and copy it.
Back in Ashby, paste the HackerRank API key into the HackerRank settings tile and save.
To use assessments, go to a job's interview plan, click "+ Activity" on the target stage, select HackerRank, and choose the assessment to send.
For live interviews, check "Attach HackerRank Interview?" when scheduling — the link is included automatically in both interviewer and candidate invitations.
