Core Update

Missing interview feedback can slow down a hiring process even when the interview itself happened on time.

We’ve rebuilt feedback reminders to make it easier to reach interviewers where they work, follow up when feedback is still outstanding, and give organizations more control over when reminders are sent.

The update adds interactive Slack reminders, on-demand manual reminders, separate configurations for interview and assessment feedback, and more control over reminder cadence.

Submit feedback directly from a Slack reminder

Feedback reminders can now be delivered as interactive Slack messages.

Interviewers can open and complete the full feedback form without leaving Slack. They can also reopen and edit feedback they have already submitted from the message.

Slack notifications cover:

  • Interview feedback reminders
  • Take-home and assessment feedback reminders
  • Feedback requests sent without a scheduled interview

Instead of relying on an email being noticed, the reminder can reach interviewers directly in the workflow many teams use throughout the day.

Send a manual reminder when feedback is holding up the process

Recruiters, coordinators, hiring managers, and other users with permission to edit the candidate can also send a reminder on demand.

From the candidate profile, choose the reviewers who still owe feedback and send the reminder by email, Slack, or both.

Ashby only sends reminders to people whose feedback is still outstanding, so if someone has already submitted by the time you send, they are automatically skipped.

Manual reminders are intentionally treated as an explicit nudge from the sender. The selected channels are used even if the recipient has opted out of that channel for automated feedback reminders.

Configure interview and assessment reminders independently

Organizations can now manage interview feedback and take-home or assessment feedback as separate reminder types.

That means each can have its own:

  • Delay before the first reminder
  • Repeat frequency
  • Email configuration
  • Slack configuration

Teams that expect interview feedback within hours but give reviewers longer to complete an assessment can configure those processes differently.

Admins can choose whether email and Slack reminders are required organization-wide or left to each employee’s personal notification preferences.

Configure feedback notifications in your personal settings

If a notification channel is required by your organization, it will be enabled in your personal settings and cannot be turned off. For optional channels, you can choose whether you want to receive feedback reminders through that channel.

Email remains required and Slack starts optional by default, so this update does not automatically begin sending Slack reminders to everyone.

Spend less time chasing feedback outside Ashby

Recruiters previously had to notice missing feedback, open Slack or email, and manually recreate the candidate context in a separate message.

These updates bring both automated and one-off follow-up into the feedback workflow itself, while giving organizations more flexibility over how persistent those reminders should be.

Getting started

The updated Feedback Reminders experience is available across Foundations, Plus, and Enterprise.

Admins can configure reminder channels and cadence from Admin > Organization Setup > Feedback Reminders. Users can manage optional reminder channels from their personal notification settings.
