We’re excited to launch a new sourcing feature that allows you to scale, track, and report on your LinkedIn outreach activities. In Ashby, you can now add a sequence step that notifies you to send a LinkedIn InMail or LinkedIn connection request. You also have the option to log these two LinkedIn activities as one-off communication touch points outside of your sequences.

Sourcing and engaging candidates now involves more than just sending a handful of emails. Modern recruiters are diversifying their communication strategies to increase response rates. But, if your team is reaching hundreds of candidates weekly, through various communication methods, it becomes challenging to scale and track these efforts. Let’s look at how you can now handle this in Ashby.

## LinkedIn InMail & connection requests in sequences

You can now add a step in your sequences that will prompt you to send an InMail or connection request, using a customizable template you’ve set up.

Once a sequence reaches a LinkedIn-specific stage, the sequence will pause. You'll then be notified via email as well as on the Ashby homepage to complete the action.

These notifications will take you directly to the candidate’s LinkedIn profile where you can send the InMail or complete the connection request and mark it as done.

## Directly logging outreach and replies

You may also want to send your LinkedIn outreach outside of a sequence. You can do that too! Quickly log these activities directly from the chrome extension.

## Reporting on outreach activities

To understand the impact of your multi-channel sourcing strategy, we've added a new reporting subject called "Outreach Activities" for you to build custom reports from.

Creating custom reports and dashboards in Ashby is extremely powerful. The ability to drive actionable insights from this data has become critical to high performing recruiting teams. This is why we’re excited to announce our new Scheduled Dashboard Delivery feature that enables you to make your dashboard data even more accessible. 

You now have the ability to automatically send your dashboards via slack and email on customizable schedules. You can specify the frequency, recipients, filters, and data format for the various dashboards you want to send out.

These delivery schedules make it easy to automatically surface your dashboards to the appropriate stakeholders and team members on a predictable cadence. By offering new methods for consuming dashboards - via Slack and email - you’re able to help drive a culture of data-informed decision-making, performance, and accountability. To set up a Scheduled Dashboard Delivery:

Click the “Scheduled Delivery” button from a dashboard view. Here you’ll see the number of active and inactive schedules.

After you click “Scheduled Delivery” you’ll have the ability to set up one or more schedules and define the settings for your delivery.

1. **Frequency:** Day, week, month, quarter
2. **Deliver by:** Slack or email
3. **Deliver to:** Email address, users, slack user or channel. 
4. **Filters:** Specify dashboard filters if available
5. **Format:** CSV, PDF, Both
6. **Content:** Title and message

Once you’ve configured your delivery preferences you can “Activate” the schedule to start sending your Dashboard based on the frequency you’ve set up. You can also “Send now” at any point to immediately send to the recipients on the schedule for testing purposes.

Whenever the frequency criteria is met for a Scheduled Dashboard Delivery your recipients will receive their report via Slack or email. PDFs are sent as attachments. The CSV format has each report as separate and zipped to one file.

New Feature: Schedule and Send Your Dashboards via Slack and Email 

Recruiting for an open position can take place across a variety of different communication channels. This might be over LinkedIn, different messaging apps, online chats, and anywhere else you’re reaching potential candidates. 

No matter how you prefer to communicate these conversations eventually lead to a formal job consideration and scheduled interview. However, gathering contact details, availability, and associating candidates to the correct job and interview stage from these channels can be an inefficient, multi-step process. 

Now in Ashby, you can use a Public Booking Link.

Public Booking Links are special scheduling links for a specific Job and Interview Stage that you can send to anyone whether they exist in Ashby or not. You can also embed them as a substitution token to be used in your email sequences. Once the recipient of the link schedules themselves they will be created in Ashby (if needed) and automatically moved to the correct interview stage of the associated job. A workflow for Public Booking Links looks like this:

Copy the unique Public Booking Link for a Job and Interview stage.

Send the link to anyone depending on the context of your previous conversations.

The recipient will pick a time slot based on the availability of the interviewer for that job and stage.

After they’ve entered in their contact information and completed the booking process a unique event URL is generated where they can cancel or reschedule as needed.

Once recipient has completed the booking process a few things will happen. Ashby will automatically:

1.  Create the candidate (if needed)
2.  Associate the candidate with the Job and move them to the correct Interview Stage
3.  Schedule and send out calendar invites to the interviewer and candidate

You’ll notice the candidate is now in the pipeline for the associated job and already scheduled for the interview at the Hiring Manager Phone Screen stage. 

You can also add Public Booking links as substitution tokens into Sequence tied to specific jobs. This will insert the Public Booking Link for the first Interview on your job’s Interview Plan.

When a candidate fills out a Public Booking link from a sequence, Ashby will mark them as "Recipient Replied", stop the sequence, and mark them as converted.

You will now see the candidates in the pipeline with the interview scheduled.

Streamlining the scheduling process is one of the best ways to improve the candidate experience. It also helps recruiting teams efficiently move candidates through their hiring process and gives them a new tool to increase conversions.

#### How to get started

Add *Candidate Location* as a question on your application forms in Ashby. You have the option to configure the types of locations candidates are able to set.

Now, when candidates fill out your form they’ll have an easy way to enter their location and you’ll collect this as structured data when the application is submitted.

#### Common use cases

When a candidate location is set manually or through the application submission, Ashby will automatically infer and set the candidate’s timezone based on that location. Setting this value based on the candidate’s location saves a step and helps streamline scheduling across timezones.

Analyzing candidate locations is useful to inform your recruiting strategies. You can spot geographic trends and better learn where candidates are coming from to help maximize your recruiting efforts.

Performing bulk actions on candidates based on their location data becomes really powerful. You can create a list of previously archived candidates from your talent pool that were unwilling to relocate, and enroll them in an email sequence announcing the new office you’re opening up in their area.

Our new Application Limits feature will help you enforce rules around your application process. We have seen first hand how these rules can have a positive impact on your hiring process by:  

-   Helping candidates be more thoughtful about their applications by picking the roles most relevant to them, rather than applying to a large number of open positions at your company
-   Limiting the application review burden for your hiring team which improves review times, candidate experience, and increases the likelihood of your team finding strong candidates within your applicant pool

With the introduction of “Application Limits“ you now have the ability to block job applications by setting limits on how often candidates can apply to your jobs in a given timeframe. This new control is perfect for scenarios where candidates excessively apply to multiple open jobs, or when you receive repeat applications from recently rejected candidates. Get started by using Ashby’s built-in filters to specify which Jobs your application limit rule should apply to. You can access all Job fields as filter criteria, allowing you to target jobs with precision.

Once you’ve set up the correct job filters, you can define the application limits you want to set. Typically, this breaks down into limiting the number of applications a single candidate can submit across jobs and/or disallowing rejected candidates to apply again. You can set a timeframe for each rule, ensuring you don’t block a candidate indefinitely. Check out the rules breakdown below:

-   Block candidates from applying more than X times over X days for any job
-   Block candidates from re-applying to the same role within X day(s) after a rejection
